About Heal Force
Heal Force is a platform that connects people who have survived a chronic disease or who are going through one - such as cancer, MS, Alzheimer's, ALS, Parkinson's or diabetes. The platform will provide the users a space where they can share their own stories and treatments, find support by connecting to those who are experiencing the same and give reviews on healthcare providers who have treated them. Their stories hold power, and by creating Heal Force we will offer a stage on which the users feel heard and empowered in the daunting world of medicine. It is their stories that must be heard and by doing so, they may help and inspire others as well.
My name is Evelien Vissers
I'm Evelien, 31 years old, a Dutch national, and an unexpected turn of events has now shaped me into an entrepreneur. My initial venture into the professional world began as a lawyer at an international law firm in Amsterdam, but then life took a different course. In December 2019, shortly after my father lost his battle with terminal cancer, I discovered a lump in my breast. Little did I know that this discovery marked the commencement of a new chapter in my life – a chapter characterized by fear, uncertainty, and isolation (also due to the onset of Covid). However, it's a chapter that has ultimately led me to a life more profound than I could have ever imagined.
Despite the tremendous support I received from my family, friends, and co-workers, I felt profoundly alienated during my treatment journey, which encompassed surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation. Fortunately, I connected with women of my age who were undergoing similar experiences. Their stories and experiences proved to be invaluable at the time of my diagnosis. They not only offered insights into which hospital or doctor they chose for treatment but also how they navigated life with their conditions.
This personal journey prompted me to embark on a new mission: the creation of Heal Force. It's a place where individuals battling chronic diseases can come together, connect with peers, and share their experiences on healthcare practitioners and institutions. Our aim is to empower, connect, and value every person, fostering a sense of community that makes a difference.
Good things take time, and that's why Heal Force's platform hasn't been launched just yet. Our website serves as a stepping stone to raise awareness about our mission, gather valuable feedback from our prospective users, and secure the capital needed to bring the platform to life.
